Make Minecraft Multiplayer Easy With Realms

Realms work in Mine Craft Bedrock Edition and Mine Craft Java Edition but are not cross-compatible (a friend playing on Java Edition cannot play in a Bedrock Edition player’s Realm).

Personal servers in Minecraft are called realms. This is the simplest way to create a private world where you can craft and build with your friends.

How to Create a Realm

Java Edition: First, you must purchase a Realm subscription (you can view the pricing plans on Mine Craft’s website). You also can sign up for a 30-day free test and cancel anytime.

Open Mine Craft and click Mine Craft Realms once you’ve purchased a subscription. If this is your rather time making a Realm, click to begin your new Realm. Before selecting your world type, name your Realm and enter a brief description here.

Choose between creating a new world, uploading a previous world save, or exploring Realms’ World templates, Adventures, and Experiences.

After creating your Realm, select Configure Realm (the wrench icon) and click on Players. To whitelist a friend on your Server, click Invite Player and enter their username before clicking Invite Player again. Your friend will accept an invitation to join your Realm.

Bedrock Edition: Mine Craft BE is a little different.

  1. Click Play to launch Minecraft BE. Select Create New in Worlds.
  2. Create New World should be selected once more.
  3. From the left pane, choose to Create on Realms. Select a Realm capacity of 2 or 10 players.
  4. Name your Realm, read and consent to the terms and conditions, and then click Create Realm for a two-player realm.
  5. Choose Buy Now from the navigation list for a 10-player Realm. Select Start Free Trial after giving your Realm a name, reading, and agreeing to the terms and conditions.

How to Join a Minecraft Realm

If you received an invitation to join a friend’s Realm, open Mine Craft and navigate to Mine Craft Realms.

A small envelope icon can be found at the top of the screen, to the right where it says Mine Craft Realms. To join your friend’s Realm, click this envelope containing any pending invites you’ve received.

Bedrock Edition: Request an invite code from Realm’s creator. This should look like “realms. Gg/ABC XYZ”—the characters after “realms. gg/” is optional.

Click Play after starting Minecraft. Then, click Join Realm in the Friends section. Click Join after entering the invite code you received from the Realm owner. You’re ready to go!

How to Play Minecraft With Friends: Cross-Platform

The list of games that support cross-platform Play is growing, and Minecraft Craft Bedrock Edition is one of them. The only hitch is that you must be on the same performance; Java Edition players cannot play with Bedrock Edition players.

However, you can play Bedrock Edition on your iPhone or Android while your buddy plays on their PC, Xbox, VR headset, or Switch. Use one of the ways in this index to link up with different players—Realms is your great bet for a hassle-free adventure.

How to Play Minecraft LAN

While waitpeople are the best way to play Minecraft Craft with friends far away, a LAN (Local Area Network) connection is an easy way to play with nearby friends.

Java Edition

You can easily do this if you have the same local IP address as the player you want to enter. Launch Minecraft Craft and click Multiplayer. Mine Craft will automatically scan your local network for games.

It will appear in your list of servers if another player has a LAN world open to join. Double-tap the Server, or select it and click Join Server.

Bedrock Edition

In Bedrock Edition, LAN play is enabled by default. Simply navigate to the Worlds tab, and any available games on your network will appear here for you to join.

Minecraft Split screen

You can also play Mine Craft Bedrock Edition in split-screen mode (on consoles only) while on LAN, with up to four players online simultaneously.

Now You Can Play Minecraft Multiplayer

Now that you know how to play Minecraft with buddies, you can team up or party with your friends to expand your Minecraft craft experiences.

With that in mind, you might be interested in adding some mods to spice things up. Forge is the great way to manage your mods and ensure your game does not crash when you launch it.

Meanwhile, prepare your servers and start playing Minecraft Craft Multiplayer!
